June 14, 2009: Week 11
First, congratulations to everyone who participated in Cowrite! Finishing a screenplay is a huge accomplishment and you should feel proud of your involvement. And congratulations specifically to Australian Josh Helman for his exciting and fun conclusion to the Cowrite screenplay. A terrific final 14 pages. Josh's entry was extremely inventive, funny and full of action. This has been a great experience and I think we have a really fun first first draft on our hands with a ton of potential! Our winning writers took the story in directions I would have never predicted. In the end, our nerdy, awkward teenager Jonas Bernstein became the spy he's always dreamed of becoming, emerged victorious over the villian and got the girl!

Now, as the maxam goes, "writing is rewriting," and the first step in the rewrite process is to reread the full screenplay and come up with insightful ideas for how to make this the best story possible. Everyone will now have an opportunity to submit (for free) script notes on the first draft of the Cowrite screenplay. The script notes will be due: 11:59 PM EST on June 24th 2009. The entrant with the best overall script notes will be the winner and final Pro in The Pro's Take section.

Please read the previous Producer's Blog for some further guidelines. Also, feel free to post any questions regarding the notes in the forum and I will try to answer them. Basically, the best way to go about it is to imagine a good friend of yours sent you this screenplay and asked for your thoughts on how to improve it. You may organize your comments in whatever manner you feel is most effective.

We're very excited to read your constructive comments and then move on to the rewrite. Good Luck and congrats again to everyone!
