Welcome to Cowrite. I am very excited about the prospects of the first Cowrite contest as well as the first Cowrite community-sourced screenplay. I believe the project is going to generate a lot of interest and that entertainment industry professionals will be checking in to keep tabs on the developing script.

My name is Todd Soffian, founder and executive producer of Cowrite, and I will be serving as the producer in this blog. A little history on me: I graduated The George Washington University with a BA in Film Studies and have worked in the entertainment industry at a literary/talent agency, at a production company and as a professional script reader. I have had promising opportunities as a screenwriter but never nabbed that big sale. That writerly frustration inspired me to conceive Cowrite.

I think Cowrite is going to give aspiring writers a great opportunity to make money for their efforts and help them be a part of their first script sale. I also believe the entire Cowrite community has an opportunity to do something extremely special: to not only sell a community-created screenplay, but have it be made into a successful movie and prove that there is real talent outside of Hollywood and that we have interesting stories to tell.
